Lemons: My Favourite Wedding Decor

I see fantastic decor at each wedding I photograph. Vintage, country, rustic, up-scale, shiny, glittery, colourful, and everything in-between… I love to the photograph the details. My couples are so creative; how could I not?! This year some of my couples have chosen to incorporate one of my favourite things ever. LEMONS! See how Hayley and Brent and Shari and Chad used lemons in their weddings.

Hayley & Brent

I met Hayley and Brent with Nate at their hotel in Owen Sound. There I photographed hair and makeup with the girls while Nate photographed the guys doing what guys do before weddings (eating, goofing off, and dressing at the last minute). I hadn’t had the chance to meet Hayley and Brent prior to their wedding, I had never been to the venue, and I had no idea what their style was. However when we pulled up to the old rustic barn the first thing I saw was, yes, lemonade atop an antique buffet. I immediately turned to Nate and said, “We have to photograph that!”

Shari & Chad

Shari and Chad were married at Sandy Lane Farm in Southampton. I love Sandy Lane. I’ve had several weddings at the century-old stone home, but never come away with the same photos. Shari and Chad had a pink and green themed wedding with honey favours and bouquet soaked in lemon water. There were hints of lemon everywhere, in the bridesmaids dresses, the yellow flowers, and the centrepiece candles. What a great use of lemon!
